Chart notes
VERDI rated along the rail turning into the backstretch, bumped with an outer foe passing the half, improved under pressure going into the far turn, ranged up while angling outward passing the quarter, rallied ahead while drifting out down the lane, and held safe. BOUNDLESS OPTIMIST chased in the three path, bumped with an inner foe passing the half, then improved in tandem with another inner foe going into the far turn, bumped with that one while in the four path just before the three-eighths pole, was driven from there around the far turn, then ran on in the five path down the stretch for place. FLEET BROTATO trailed in the four path, angled to the rail under a drive entering the far turn, tipped back out to the four path in upper stretch, and kept on for show. TEDDY PANTAGES laid closest to the clear pacesetter turning into the backstretch, advanced under a ride to challenge from the three path entering the far turn, bumped with an outer foe just before the three-eighths pole, continued to battle for the lead from the three path turning into the stretch, but gave way in the final furlong. TOWHEE was sent leaving the chute to set a clear pace in the two path turning into the backstretch, was challenged by an outer foe entering the far turn, coaxed passing the quarter, but retreated down the lane.
