Chart notes
TOWN HERO went to the front to set a pressured pace down the backstretch then matched strides inside of WARHAMMER and PAPA FUNNY to the eighth pole before inching away and fended off BUTCHY BOY late to win the nod. BUTCHY BOY hustled away from the gate, settled off the pace while saving ground to the three furlong marker then angled out to be four wide near the quarter pole and engaged the leaders at the top of the stretch but couldn't catch the winner and was outnodded. LEVIATHAN AXE was unhurried around the first turn then advanced up the rail to the top of the stretch and made a late rail bid to be up for the show. BOCA GUY raced in the middle of the pack down the backstretch then raced three wide on the final turn, tipping out to four wide in upper stretch before showing a late interest to improve his position. PAPA FUNNY raced in the middle of the pack around the first turn then moved up to engaged the leaders near the three furlong marker and matched strides outside of TOWN HERO and WARHAMMER to the top of the stretch before weakening. WARHAMMER raced four wide into the first turn and moved to contention going into the backstretch, stalked the pace from three wide to the final turn, moved up to engaged the leaders near the three furlong marker and matched strides between TOWN HERO and PAPA FUNNY to the top of the stretch, fought gamely to deep stretch before being outfinished. REASON TO BELIEVE pressed the pace from two wide to the half mile marker and was done. FRANCHUCHIE was always back and was outrun.
