Chart notes
CHARLIE'S CURLIN was closest in pursuit from inside, bid between rivals with three furlongs remaining, seized control at the eighth pole and held over BUST OUT in the final strides. BUST OUT got crowded along the rail by THIRD BEER prior to the first turn, chased within range on the second bend, angled out in the lane, came with a late run but ran out of ground. ARMY MAN grabbed the lead in the two path then found the rail, challenged by a pair of rivals at the three-eighths pole, led to upper stretch, lost command at the eighth pole and weakened late. THIRD BEER tracked from inside, bid three deep on the far turn, failed to keep up with the leaders in upper stretch and flattened in the furlong grounds. COURT OF APPEAL clipped heels when THIRD BEER crossed in front not too long after the start but recovered quickly, trailed from inside, moved out late on the far turn and could not make an impact.
