Chart notes
B BOLD CHARLIE forwardly placed early on, stalked three then two wide to the half-mile, vied gamely between foes into the stretch, led to the final sixteenth, dug in in deep stretch, held well late, prevailed. VALENTINO WHO hopped start, settled outside to the backstretch, loomed four wide to the quarter pole, fought gamely into the stretch and battled to the final sixteenth, was denied the win and was a clear second. DORA'S STORM broke alertly and took early command, set pace two wide then from the rail heading to the half-mile, met bids at the quarter pole then dug in into the stretch, battled into the final furlong, grudgingly gave way in the final sixteenth and held safely for third. HARDY BOY close up to the early pace, stalked from the inside into the backstretch, shifted out and tracked the pace three wide into the far turn, re-bid at the quarter marker then vied for the lead to upper stretch, could not find more into the final furlong and weakened. GRIFTER unhurried early on, coaxed two wide to the quarter pole, swung widest to upper stretch and gained ground at the furlong pole, could not sustain that run and flattened out late. SPINNING BLACK lunged at the start, settled off of the early pace while never far back, coaxed four wide to the half-mile pole, shifted in and saved ground to the quarter marker, kept an inside path to the stretch and lacked a late rally.
