REXFORD moved three and four wide to join the dueling leaders going up the backstretch, dueled outside GENERAL SHIPMAN through the far turn and edged clear under mild urging in the lane. GENERAL SHIPMAN dueled on the early pace outside PAYNTED BLUE, was joined by the winner going to the far turn, resisted that one to upper stretch and could not match strides late. AXEL STEEL stalked the leaders three wide and lacked a final closing run. VICTORIOUS VANDA failed to mount a solid bid four wide.
