WILLIE BIRD was off awkwardly and bumped a rival at the start, trailed early, angled to the four path nearing the three-eighths pole, rallied and prevailed under mild handling. EXPLOSIVELY stalked the pace in the four path, bid near the three-eighths pole, dueled through the stretch and proved no match.
