Chart notes
CHILLHOUSE tracked the early pace three deep, ridden along while well placed into the far turn, responded well in the lane, wore down rivals into the final sixteenth and edged away in deep stretch. KATISCHUO contested the early pace between rivals, dueled for command with BROTHER PAUL into the far turn, raced on even terms with that foe into the stretch, was outfinished into the final sixteenth and held safely for second. BROTHER PAUL unseated the jockey and ran loose prior to the start, broke alertly, led from the inside along the first turn then disputed the pace with KATISCHUO through the backstretch, dueled that rival to the quarter marker, raced on even terms to mid-stretch, yielded in the final sixteenth and was well clear for third. BUTTER MAN settled to the first turn, was well placed while tracking into the backstretch, outrun to the quarter pole then came up empty in the stretch drive.
