Chart notes
WHITE ABARRIO bumped with an outer foe at the start, led along the inside early, took back rounding the first turn to track the leading duo from the two path up the backstretch, tipped out to the three path while being pushed along going by the three-eighths pole, loomed up under coaxing from the four path passing the quarter, made a bold bid while swinging from the five path into the lane, kicked on to take command just after the eighth pole, and forged clear in the final sixteenth. SOVEREIGNTY took command in the two path early around the first turn, showed the way from there turning up the backstretch, came under a ride when challenged by an outer foe from just off the rail passing the three-eighths pole, dug in gamely while trying to fend off an outer pair from the three path down the stretch, got overtaken by the winner just after the eighth pole, but held place. JOURNALISM got fractious in the gate, settled up close in the three path around the first turn, prompted the pace from there up the backstretch, was cued to bid from the two path passing the three-eighths pole, battled on valiantly between rivals from the four path down the stretch, but flattened in the final sixteenth to show. PUBLISHER rated in the three path, angled to the rail while nibbled along midway around the far turn, but weakened in the final furlong. DUKE OF DUVAL settled off the along the inside but did not threaten. LIBERAL ARTS bumped with an inner foe at the start, trailed around the first turn, moved up to stalk in the four path up the backstretch, but retreated around the far turn.
