Chart notes
CONTESSA'S SONG prominent early, ceded the lead and stalked the pace into the backstretch, chased KENTUCKY GOLD into the far turn, took command three wide to upper stretch and proved best in the final stages. WILD STEEL settled outside of rivals early on, widest along the backstretch, loomed five wide nearing the top of the lane, was repelled in the drive and held safely for second. DISCREET PLEASURE settled in the second flight to begin, tracked the pace three wide along the backstretch, chased four wide along the second turn, was outkicked by the top pair into the stretch and was a clear third in the end. KENTUCKY GOLD away in good order, assumed early command and set the pace to the backstretch, led while under pressure into the far turn, was overtaken into upper stretch then gave way in the lane. STEPN INTO TRAFFIC settled to the first turn, coaxed from the two to three path along the backstretch, gained ground into the far turn then got caught in traffic nearing the top of the lane, could not go on with the leaders in the final stages and weakened late. BRANDON'S GIRL off a bit slow and allowed to settle early on, went up to chase the pace from the inside along the backstretch, ran in pursuit from the inside into the far turn, lacked the needed response to upper stretch and tired in the drive. MISS KENZIE hustled away from the start, was well placed between rivals to the first turn then came under a tight hold and lost position into the backstretch, saved ground to the far turn, trailed to upper stretch and did not offer a late response. This race had a timing discrepancy or malfunction, and it was re-timed using video technology to obtain the most accurate final time available.
