Chart notes
CASTLE ISLAND settled just off of the early pace, bid three wide to the quarter marker, fanned to the five path into upper stretch, vied for the lead into the final furlong, dug in in deep stretch and won the head nod at the wire. CALL MY BANKER stalked the moderate pace to the backstretch, vied nearing the quarter marker, got floated to the three path into upper stretch while battling for the lead, met the bid from CASTLE ISLAND at mid-stretch, fought gamely to the wire and just missed for the win, while besting the rest. HEY BOSS was crowded at the start and off a step slowly, settled to the backstretch, roused three wide nearing the quarter pole, angled widest for the stretch drive, could not impact the top pair in the late stages but held safely in the end for third. EL PERFECTO bothered at the start, settled to the backstretch, coaxed two wide to the quarter marker, needed more in the stretch drive, moved up. RUNNINGINTHEMONEY showed speed away from the start and assumed early command, dictated terms while prompted up the backstretch, set a moderate pace to the far turn, was headed nearing the quarter pole then drifted out into upper stretch, overtaken at the furlong pole, faded late. BIGFOOT SIGHTING bothered at the start, unhurried to the half-mile, saved ground to the stretch, no threat late. STRONG EAGLE broke out at the start and bothered outer rivals, recovered to be well placed while saving ground into the backstretch, chased from the rail into the far turn, weakened in the stretch drive.
