Chart notes
L SQUARED broke alertly and assumed early command, set the pace while a bit off of the rail into the backstretch, held foes at bay into the far turn, dug in into the stretch and kept to task late. MISCHIEF MAKER a bit slow away from the start, was forwardly placed while three to four wide to the first turn, stalked the pace along the backstretch, pressed outside of L SQUARED into the far turn, was stubborn into the lane but could not get by the winner late and was second best. RATLEFF hustled to be close up to the early pace, saved ground to the first turn and was well placed into the backstretch, chased while saving ground into the far turn, was outkicked into the stretch drive and was well clear of the rest for third. PEVS DISTANT DRUM was prominent in the early stages, stalked the pace two to three wide and between foes into the backstretch, lost ground into the far turn and gave way. PINEY BLUFF lacked early speed, unhurried to the backstretch, no response to the second turn, showed little.
