Chart notes
IRISH LULLABY was coaxed from the break, gained forward position tracking inside, came out in upper stretch under urging, struck the lead past the furlong marker and drew off under steady handling. CHARMINGLY EVASIVE was quick to take the lead, set the pace near but off the rail, was no match for the winner but second best. SECOND CITY SAINT advanced four wide on the turn, was within range leaving the turn but lacked the needed late kick. PEPPER PATCH broke just a bit awkwardly, settled off the pace, saved ground through the turn, passed rivals inside to improve position. MISS MAXINE got away well, was up close three wide just off the leader, retreated. MELODY MAKER was encouraged along past the three-eighths racing three to five wide, failed to rally. KLICKITAT KAT broke out a bit, lacked early speed racing well back, saved ground on the turn, was never near enough to threaten.
