CLASSY EMPIRE rated off of the early pace then tracked two wide into the backstretch, given his cue three wide into the far turn, loomed at the quarter pole then took command to upper stretch, drew clear into the final furlong, kept to task to the final sixteenth and was geared down as much the best. SOUL SACRIFICE got crowded at the start and was off a step slowly, settled while saving ground to the backstretch, kept an inside path to the far turn, angled out into upper stretch, was no match for the winner in the drive but fought on late and got up for the place honors. C W PRIZE showed good speed and assumed early command, set a prompted pace along the backstretch, dictated terms into the far turn then came under pressure at the quarter pole, overtaken heading to the furlong grounds, could not keep pace with the winner into the final sixteenth and was outkicked in deep stretch for second, while well clear for third. COLD FACT broke out at the start but was away in good order, went up to prompt the early pace from outside of C W PRIZE, attended to the pace into the far turn, could not match strides into upper stretch and tired in the drive. This race originally had a timing malfunction, and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate times.
