CAPTAIN FANCY set the pace on the inside, dueled with HALFTIME SHOW into the stretch, battled heads apart with that rival through the final furlong and prevailed gamely inside. HALFTIME SHOW pressed the pace, bid on the turn, dueled outside of CAPTAIN FANCY in the stretch run, dug in gamely outside through the final furlong, battled to the wire and just missed. PENN FRANKLIN raced off the rail, off the pace, chased two wide on the turn, rallied outside in the stretch and earned the show spot. REAL MEN VIOLIN raced off the rail, off the pace, advanced three wide on the turn and gained mildly outside. GAVONE hesitated, lunged a bit and was off slowly, then raced off the pace inside, moved up between rivals at the quarter pole and lacked a rally. CENTAUR CENTRAL broke a step slow, raced close up on the inside, steadied in tight at the five furlong marker, then chased and tired. DIRTY CASH was off a bit slow, then in tight between horses at the five furlong marker, chased inside on the turn and gave way. A Jockey Objection by the rider of DIRTY CASH against CAPTAIN FANCY was dismissed.
