Chart notes
ANTIQUARIAN tracked the pace on the outside, made a bid late on the backstretch, vied in the three path on the turn, was given his cue near the five-sixteenths pole, took the lead coming to the quarter-pole, shook clear while asked for his best in upper stretch, drifted in under a right-handed crop approaching the furlong marker, switched to a left-handed crop outside the sixteenth-pole and drew away under steady urging to prove much the best. BISHOPS BAY prompted the pace on the inside of QUINT'S BREW, drew even with that foe late on the backstretch, vied along the rail while inside of two rivals on the turn, was asked outside the five-sixteenths pole, turned into upper stretch under a drive then came off the inside and narrowly earned the place while no match for the winner. PENTATHLON settled at the rear of the field, moved from the rail to the two path under urging on the turn, swung out to the four path into upper stretch and just missed the place while clear for third purse money. QUINT'S BREW showed the way on the outside of BISHOPS BAY, vied in the two path while between horses on the turn, was roused outside the five-sixteenths pole, dropped back in upper stretch then moved out and tired.
