Chart notes
GAVEL was off a step slowly, advanced to the turn, got through along the rail, dueled through the stretch and proved best. LAGOON rallied on the turn, bid three across, dueled through the stretch and was outfinished in a game effort. HI YAH pressed the pace along the inside, assumed command on the turn, responded to duel past the eighth pole, hung late and held safely for show. BLACK SWORD trailed the field in an outside trip, offered a mild bid only and improved position. ALVARADO CAT set a pressured pace, bore out on the turn to be in tight quarters, dropped back and gave way. PERFECT EDGE pressed the pace three wide, challenged for the lead on the turn, was in tight and carried out, dropped back and gave way.
