Chart notes
MELODY WIN got pinched and had to check at the start, rated outside of rivals, ranged up in the three path around the turn, bid in the four path at the top of the lane, dueled with the stubborn inner pacesetter into the final furlong, and drew ahead in the closing stages. PENROD tracked in the three path, was roused midway around the turn, angled out to the five path in upper stretch, ran on into the final furlong, and got up for place in the final strides. FOR MAMA set the pace in the two path, waited while off the rail around the turn, got put to a ride passing the quarter, dug in gamely while dueling with an outer foe down the lane, but evened out late to show. HUNTERTOWN raced off the pace in the two path, was cued passing the three-eighths pole, floated out to the six path down the stretch, and finished evenly. CAPO LUIGI was held up from in range inside, roused midway around the turn, but flattened in the stretch.
