DREAMS OF ROME broke out a step at the start bumping BIG FROSTY, pulled on the bit eager early on just off the inside before settling behind rivals through the first turn, tracked just off the inside until shifted out to the four path into the far turn as most of the field came off the inside when DEACON BLUES began to back away in front along the rail, came under coaxing continuing four wide into upper stretch, tipped out a path a furlong out and rallied with a good kick to overthrow the front inside the final seventy yards to prevail on the wire. BIG FROSTY got bumped at the start by the aforementioned foe, settled tracking the front just off the inside from near the rear of the field, came under encouragement with five-sixteenths to go, spun two to three wide into upper stretch, tipped out a path nearing the sixteenth marker and offered up a good finish surging late to get up for the place honors on the line. SICILIAN DANCER three wide through the first turn, tracked three then four wide from mid pack coming under urging at the five-sixteenths marker, spun three wide into upper stretch, took over command straightened away, drifted out a furlong out and was displaced from the front, dug in running on to secure the show honors. FOTO raced keenly and pulled on the bit four then three wide through the first turn, tracked two to three wide from just off the pave coming under coaxing at the five-sixteenths pole, took over command and spun just off the inside into upper stretch, dug in and was headed at the three-sixteenths, reclaimed the front at the eighth pole, dueled through to the finish getting displaced by the top one inside the final seventy yards and ran on to the end. BLUE PILL raced just off the inside through the first turn, chased three to four paths off the inside down the backstretch and then five wide through the far turn put to encouragement with five-sixteenths to run, angled out eight wide into upper stretch, kicked on belatedly to the finish. NONNO JOE settled just off the inside near the rear of the field, came under coaxing tipped four wide at the five-sixteenths, angled six wide into upper stretch and stayed on one paced to the wire. DEACON BLUES forwardly placed along the inside showing the way early on, came under a right handed crop midway on the first turn when appearing to get out slightly while pulling eagerly on the bit, settled along the inside easing off TWENTY ONE RED to track that rival in closest aim, began to fade into the far turn forcing the field outwards through the far turn, spun just off the inside into upper stretch and weakened in the final furlong. TWENTY ONE RED pulled eager while under a firm hold past the stands and three wide through the first turn forwardly placed to the outside of the aforementioned foe, was given the front into the backstretch and remained on hold and in hand showing the way from the two path, came under pressure for the initial time inside the five-sixteenths and was placed to coaxing near the quarter pole when headed for the front, took the inside route into upper stretch and weakened. MANOR PARK lost his lane at the start to BIG FROSTY due to pressure from DREAMS OF ROME, chased two then three wide under a ride from the five-sixteenths pole, angled four wide into upper stretch and offered no response. PROBE chased along the inside and then just off the inside under urging with five-sixteenths remaining, angled three to four wide for home, tired.
