Chart notes
COLONEL VARGO vied for the lead along the inside into the stretch, shifted outside the leader, rallied determinedly under left handed urging and got up in the final strides. ATKINS never far back, closed willingly through the stretch four then three wide and just missed. EL MUCHACHO ALEGRE made the lead quickly to set the pace, drew clear on the turn, maintained his advantage until deep stretch then shortened stride in the final stages. PIT STOP MAN failed to menace. DOCTOR WU chased the pace three wide into the stretch then weakened. COASTERTOTHEMOON chased the pace two wide and was through after a half.
