Chart notes
CERTAIN rated off the pace for the first quarter mile, rallied splitting rivals nearing the quarter pole to be with the leaders from three wide turning for home, opened a clear lead in mid-stretch and drew away to the wire in an impressive performance. WILLIE BIRD stalked the pace in a clear pocket into the turn, was called upon early on the bend, failed to immedietely respond allowing the winner to slip between him and the leaders, continued to be worked upon from five wide turning from home and kept a steady bid to be second best. PAYNTED WARRIOR pressed the pace into the turn, rallied to take a short lead at the quarter pole and weakened along the fence down the lane. ROCKET DRAGON reserved at the rear of the field to midway on the turn, swept up six wide to be on even terms wiith the leaders at the head of the lane and flattened out. ALTOBELLI set a pressured pace to the quarter pole and tired in the lane.
