Chart notes
FIREMAN DAN unhurried early, tracked wide through the backstretch, was three to four wide into the far turn, closed determinedly outside and prevailed. MOUNT DOOM sat in striking position, loomed boldly at the quarter pole, rallied late stretch and was outfinished. KING ELVIS quickly took command, turned back a challenge from MOUNT DOOM, and was worn down. GHOSTLY SPITFIRE saved inside, shifted outside in the final turn, and closed well. ATTACK stalked three to four wide, and lacked a kick that was needed. AUGUST RAIN trailed early and showed some interest late. UNCHARACTERISTIC late mild bid. SET TO SHINE saved inside, and faded.
