Chart notes
JUST DEAL trailed the field up the backstretch, picked up stride on the turn, rallied from the fence through the lane and overhauled NEXT TRICK late. NEXT TRICK chased from inside out of range, closed in around the turn, tipped out into the lane and drew alongside MEEKING, quickly took control and put that rival away with a furlong remaining, showed the way into deep stretch but got run down by the winner. MACHO MAN laid off the pace early on, took the turn three wide, angled out into the lane and offered a mild response to earn third. FINCAIRN chased the lone speed from off the rail then outside NEXT TRICK, closed in on the leader around the bend, moved out in the lane and weakened. MEEKING sped clear and opened up on the field early, remained well clear to the quarter pole, carried a diminishing lead into the lane, yielded to the winner shortly after and retreated in the furlong grounds.
