MAXIMON followed in range up the backstretch, chased two wide then along the rail on the turn, tipped out and took aim in upper stretch, challenged MR AMERICAN PIE midstretch and drove clear. MR AMERICAN PIE bumped leaving the gate, stalked three wide into the turn, got floated five wide into the lane, finished willingly and gained second. RUNNING SPARTAN set the pace under pressure up the backstretch, moved clear from outer rival on the turn, showed the way into the final furlong, confronted by MAXIMON midstretch and flattened out late. MISSILE CRUISER pressed the pace from outside, could not keep up with the leader but remained close on the turn, drifted out into the lane and flattened. SIGMA BOY broke a step slow and inward, jumped onto the dirt but was not cost momentum, ridden along the inside in the second flight, moved over to the two path on the turn, had the rider lost his right iron briefly while drifting into the lane, kept on trying in the stretch but failed to threaten. WAR ARTIST chased between rivals at the back in the early going, traveled in the two path then found the rail on the turn and could not rally in the lane. HOOSICK FALLS bumped leaving the gate, got crowded between rivals early then pulled up the backstretch, took the turn two wide and failed to menace. MY BOX OF LIGHT trailed three deep into the turn, got floated out into the lane and could not make an impact. H Q WILSON chased from inside out of range, lost ground around the bend and weakened.
