Following an eleven minute delay due to a late scratch and the attending to of a rider by medical personnel, DIRECTIVE raced three then two wide through the first turn, attended the leader to the outside two to three paths off the rail down the backstretch before tucking to the two path through the far turn, came under coaxing just outside the quarter pole and tipped four wide into upper stretch, shied out slightly straightened away, seized command with three-sixteenths to go, edged away briefly and drifted out a furlong out appearing a bit green, then drifted out once more near the tracks of the gate inside the sixteenth marker under growing threat to the inside, got righted with forty yards to the finish and held safe to prevail. MEASURE got tapped at the start by CHIT CHAT due to pressure from U LITE UP MY LIFE, saved ground near the rear of the field, was in behind CHIT CHAT nearing the quarter pole and got forced to pause in behind that rival at that station before cutting the corner into upper stretch as that foe took to the three path, closed in through the final furlong under a drive to secure the place honors. Following the repair of a broken bridle in the gate prior to the start, U LITE UP MY LIFE broke out at the start bumping CHIT CHAT who make light contact with MEASURE, established the front and showed the way in hand along the inside and was patiently handled through moderate splits, got roused taking the inside route into upper stretch, dug in and was caught at the three-sixteenths, kept on to preserve the show honors while well clear of the rest. CHIT CHAT got bumped at the break by U LITE UP MY LIFE, chased just off the inside and then along the inside coming under encouragement at the three-eighths pole, spun three wide into upper stretch and tired. REALITY STAR five wide into the first turn, went four then three wide through that bend and then chased three paths off the rail down the backstretch, went four to five wide through the far turn coming under light coaxing midway, cornered four wide at the head of the stretch and tired. METFARDEH four then three wide through the first turn, chased four then three wide under a ride from three furlongs out, tipped five wide into upper stretch and tired. PURE JOY stumbled at the start recovering outwards, gave chase two to three wide from the tail of the field, angled out six to seven wide into upper stretch and trailed throughout. This race had a timing discrepancy or malfunction and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
