Chart notes
SWISS GUARD quickly claimed command before giving way to CATEGORY TEN midway through the first turn, pressed that foe up the backstretch, battled down the lane to put a nose in front just in time. CATEGORY TEN moved up to take charge midway through the first turn, set a pressured pace for the run up the backstretch, dueled with SWISS GUARD down the stretch for a very gamely finish. AMERICAN CAUSE stumbled at the start, was rated four wide, cued through the far turn for a competitive position at the top of the stretch, fought hard to earn the show award. REDFIELD was forwardly placed between runners but got in tight rounding the first turn and checked back, launched an inside bid rounding the far turn but was out-finished. MCMONEY was bumped between rivals at the start, trailed for the first half, passed tired foes. BROWN RESERVE shadowed the pace from the inside, dropped back before the far turn, showed little in the stretch. COOL MEMORY raced off the pace, never threatened.
