Chart notes
CHICKEN DANCE outrun early toward the inside first turn, continued two path middle half, dropped to the rail and accelerated midway on the final bend, moved back out and engaged the leader past the furlong marker and proved best under firm handling. BOLERO BAY broke with the leaders from the outside, eventually cleared toward the inside through the early part of the first turn, showed the way up the backstretch while setting some soft fractions, continued to hold the advantage into the lane, responded when the winner came calling nearing the furlong grounds, proved stubborn to the end. KHON HAN lacked early foot while five wide through much of the first turn, four wide backstretch, loomed a threat while once again in the five path in the final turn, lost some ground to the top two into the lane then flattened out a bit in the late going to report home best of the others. MOONSTROCITY back off the early pace and the inside, advanced into a forward position three wide in the second turn, went evenly through the lane in lacking a closing punch. NICKEL C tracked the pace from along the inside, idled along the rail into the far turn, moved in the two path for room while being asked in the second turn, lacked necessary closing response. JUSTIN SMILES in some early traffic, in tight, lacked speed, came four wide for the drive, improved position with some mild late interest. MOVE JESSE MOVE five wide in the first turn, trailed much of the way, picked off a couple of tiring rivals after the issue had been decided. BEHOLD THE KING prompted the leader while racing off the inside, remained within striking distance into the far turn, gave way in the two path midway on that bend. TIMSHEL forwardly placed for five furlongs in the three path, gave way.
