Chart notes
AIRMAIL FLYER pressed the pace in the three path, vied for the lead passing the three-eighths pole, dueled with an inner rival while getter herded out to the six path in upper stretch, and inched ahead late. SOUTHGATE GATOR set the pace in the two path, faced off with an outer challenger entering the far turn, was roused passing the quarter, dug in while drifting out on the left lead down the stretch, but got edged out by the winner in the closing stages. MOR TIGER PAW was reluctant to load, steadied at the start, rated in the two path, was driven in the three path around the far turn, but flattened down the lane. MR BOUGIE got fractious in the gate, steadied at the start, trailed throughout, was eased through the stretch, and walked off. WYLES broke out at the start, hopped into the inner rail early losing the rider, completed the circuit from just inside the inner rail, then was caught shortly after and walked off. NO ACTION WAS TAKEN AFTER A STEWARDS INQUIRY.
