CORTINA D'AMPREZZO (IRE) reserved a bit off the rail in the early going, between rivals at the midway point, drew closer around the far turn, tipped out and challenged in upper stretch, cleared GOLDEN HOPE midstretch and drew off. GOLDEN HOPE was reluctant loading into the gate, stepped to the front and moved inside, set all the pace to the top of the lane, challenged by the winner in upper stretch, yielded past the eighth pole and stayed on to hold second. JET BLACK JEWEL (IRE) broke slow and was brushed from inside at the start, trailed outside a rival, crept closer three deep on the backstretch, rounded the far turn in the two path then along the rail, advanced from inside in upper stretch, moved out at the sixteenth pole and could not get by GOLDEN HOP for second. FIRE BAN stalked the speed from the two path, coaxed three deep into the far turn, asked for more around the bend and could not respond. ASTRONOMICALLY (IRE) unhurried in the early going and moved inside, hugged the rail to the stretch and failed to threaten. GREY MATTER stalked along the rail in the opening stages, moved into second around the far turn, chased two wide into the lane and weakened. MEDINA DEL CAMPO (IRE) traveled inside a rival at the back early on, trailed up the backstretch, went two wide into the far turn, moved back to the rail late on the bend and never got involved.
