Chart notes
GALLANT BUCK settled off the pace, advanced inside on the turn moving out past the five-sixteenths and coming to the quarter pole three wide, bid in upper stretch dueling then edging clear under steady handling. SWAGGY GEORGE was urged forward to join the lead after three-sixteenths, dueled putting a head in front past the seven-sixteenths, edged just clear late on the turn, was challenged and headed in upper stretch, fought on briefly but was no match while clearly second best. SCRAPPY PATCH lacked early speed racing off the inside, was best of the rest. WARNING LABEL chased from outside four to five deep into and on the turn, came into upper stretch seven wide, failed to menace. CHARLI MICHAEL moved forward taking the lead outside the four- and one-half, dueled inside, faltered and faded. FAITHFUL RULER was just a bit fractious in the gate, got away well and had the early lead, continued to stalk the new leaders from outside up the backstretch going into the turn four wide, was in range past the quarter pole then faltered.
