Chart notes
CLEVER CLOVER tracked off the rail out of striking distance, gained two wide around the bend, drew alongside DES DOIGTS at the top of the stretch, grabbed the lead with a furlong remaining and maintained a short lead over DES DOIGTS to the wire. DES DOIGTS sprinted clear and opened up a comfortable lead, ridden along the rail around the bend, carried a diminished advantage into the lane, lost command nearing the eighth pole and stayed on with the winner to the wire for a game second. KAHUNA MAGIC chased three deep from off the pace, remained three wide around the bend, churned on down the lane and finished a clear third. ZOMBO BOMBO chased in range then dropped back when climbing early, raced between rivals into the turn, went two wide around the bend and had little left for the drive. TIZ'S HARBOR trailed four deep into the turn, went three deep into the lane and was never a factor. WIZARD OF WESTWOOD raced near the back off the rail then altered in past the five-eighths pole, coaxed along the fence from off the pace, saved ground to the stretch and failed to menace.
