Chart notes

EDGEWATER moved up after a slightly tardy start, took command of the front end at the five-furlong pole, maintained a clear margin through the turn, repelled a bid by BREAKER WAVE near the quarter pole, then widened the margin under a mild hand ride. BREAKER WAVE showed good early speed but ceded the front to EDGEWATER, was always close up to that rival, made a bid for the lead leaving the quarter pole, but could not match strides in upper stretch, kept on to be a clear second. WHAT A SECRET was outpaced from the start, chased the main group down the backstretch and into the turn, kept to the inside through the turn, and finished willingly to improve. RUNAWAY ROXY broke well to dispute the early pace four-wide, went on through the turn to chase EDGEWATER on the lead, came under pressure near the quarter pole and did not kick on with the leaders, and finished evenly. BOMBPROOF stumbled badly after the start, nearly unseating the rider who lost the left iron, dropped behind the rest by nearly a pole while the rider regained control, then made a belated rally. JELLY ROAD broke on top and contested the early pace, started to lose ground at the seven-sixteenths marker, and had little to offer in the stretch run. LOQUACIOUS LOUAN did not appear to handle the going and was outrun.
