FLYIN WITHTHE BOSS came away a bit awkwardly, settled in along the rail behind the pace, moved up to take the lead at the half-mile pole, tried to slip away under a ride through the turn, came under the crop leaving the quarter pole, led late, but was unable to fend off the late bid of MAGNOIA AVENUE and had to share the top prize. MAGNOLIA AVENUE unhurried early, lagged at the back around the clubhouse turn, circled the field on the far turn to loom a three-wide threat turning for home, gradually closed the gap on the leader, and pulled even at the wire. HOLLYWOODBOULEVARD advanced three-wide on the first turn, tracked the leaders down the backstretch, was in range passing the half-mile pole, came up even with the leader at the top of the stretch, but was outfinished in the late stages. CODE OF THE SOUTH was hustled away but not fast enough to enjoin the early pace, settled off the pace near the back, through the early stages, was being ridden approaching the half-mile pole but not making any forward progress, dropped back to last early on the far turn, then came back on three-wide in the stretch to pass a couple of tired foes. BANK ON DAISY gained inside position and a piece of the lead heading into the first turn, kept a narrow lead racing off the rail, allowed FLYIN WITHTHE BOSS to slip through on the inside before the half, had to be ridden to keep up late on the turn, but had little left for the stretch run.
