Chart notes
ROCK N REWARD stalked the loose pacesetter to three-eighths pole, gradually cut into the lead through the turn with a steady advance, collared that one leaving the eighth pole and just held off the closing runner-up on the line. LOUISE BROOKS reserved off the pace to midway on the turn, rallied turning for home from between rivals and surged late to just miss. XERCES tracked the leader from four wide to the haed of the lane, rallied down the stretch closing well but came up a bit short in a good effort. ANGEL OF HARLEM set the pace on a clear lead, saw that margin dwindle through the lane despite digging-in gamely and was outfinished in the final sixteenth. I'M HEADING EAST failed to menace. HIGHLAND HOLIDAY was not a factor.
