Chart notes
DON PABLO settled two-wide near the back of the pack, advanced late on the backstretch run to be in range of the leaders heading into the far turn, continued to advance, came four-wide into the stretch with momentum, got first run and sprinted clear in the late stages. LAWLESS WAYS lost the path and took up sharply after the start, was last into the first turn and content with that position to the far turn, launched a three-wide bid after passing the three-furlong pole, closed strongly, but could not get to the winner. STRUCK OUT broke outward at the start, and was slow into stride, settled at the back of the field along the inside to the far turn, launched a rally before the three-furlong pole, finished up well under steady handling, and moved up to take third. CHARLIE G T hustled away to grab the early lead, slowed the pace down for the first half-mile, getting only mild pressure from FULTON, gave way readily to the eventual winner in upper stretch, and weakened in the drive. SMARTY'S BACK was taken back off the pace through the early stages, was last into the home stretch, angled out to the four-path in mid-stretch, and outfinished some tired rivals. REGARDLESS gave an even effort racing three to four wide throughout. MY LEO settled in a pocket in the inside with no clear path for much of the race, got clear in upper stretch but lacked a response when asked. YALLA VAMOS showed good speed from the break, went three-wide into the first turn, tracked close up to the far turn, loomed a threat at the top of the stretch, but faltered. FULTON showed good speed from the start, got a good forward position just off the leader in the two-path with the rider taking a tight hold, remained prominent to the stretch, then lacked a finish and faded to the back. THE JOCKEY ON #7 LAWLESS WAYS LODGED A CLAIM OF FOUL AGAINST #8 DON PABLO ALLEGING INTERFERENCE AT THE START. AFTER A REVIEW, THE STEWARDS DISALLOWED THE OBJECTION AND THE ORIGINAL FINISH WAS MADE OFFICIAL.
