Chart notes
ALWAYS SPITEFUL took over the lead soon after the start, led the way under some pressure from close running SO JACKSANN, turned back the bid from MERASOL SUGAR leaving the quarter pole, saved ground turning for home, widened under a mild drive and kept to task. MERASOL SUGAR tracked the pace up the backstretch, launched a three wide bid near the quarter pole, could not reach the eventual winner, ran on two wide down the lane and finished second best. SWEET MOTHER MARY rated off the top trio up the backstretch, saved ground around the turn, launched a rail bid at the head of the lane and outdueled rival for show. SO JACKSANN prompted the early pace, given cue two wide at the five sixteenths pole, ran on past the furlong marker then flattened and got outnodded for show. FULL SPIRIT raced in the back, hustled along three wide into the lane and lacked a needed rally. The final time for this race was originally hand-timed, and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
