Chart notes
LAND SPEED vied between rivals to the turn, slipped through at the rail entering the stretch, gained the upper hand despite outside pressure, and held firm to the wire. WHIP pressed the issue four wide from the outside, remained prominent throughout, fanned three wide into the lane, and rallied gamely, but fell short in the final stages. KISSOFTHENILE raced on the pace between rivals but weakened a bit near the finish. DANCING DEVIL raced at the back of the pack early on, started a sustained run from the half-mile pole but was not good enough. IT'S A RAINY DAY was outrun through the early stages, chased from the rear throughout and was unable to make up any ground in the stretch. SCRIMSHIRE came under the crop early, rushed into contention, backed out near the half-mile pole, and never recovered.
