Chart notes
HIGHLY WICKED was allowed to settled well off the pace early on, advanced steadily through the middle stages to be in range of the lead with three furlongs to run, was put into a stiff drive through the far turn, came out five-wide, was under the crop and seemed to be idling in upper stretch but found another gear in the final yards and surged ahead just before the finish. LASSIE MY GIRL settled in the middle of the pack early on, advanced up the inside to be in contention by the far turn, waited for room through that turn, got an opening turning for home, put a head in front mid-stretch but could not hold off the closing charge of the winner. PEAK EARNINGS (GB) tracked the early pacesetter to the far turn, moved up in-hand to challenge for the lead before the stretch, came under the crop in upper stretch, but did not produce the needed response and was outfinished for the top spots. SHE'S A JOKER took up after the break, then lacked any early speed and was last into the first bend, when three-wide, then tracked four-wide through the middle stages, was put into a stiff drive into the last turn, came out five-wide into the stretch, put in a mild late bid but was not good enough. BRISA VELOZ got away well, tracked three-wide through the clubhouse turn, dropped back to mid-pack in the run up the backstretch, did not kick on with the rest as the field compacted heading into the far turn, then could not generate much of a late bid and was outfinished in the stretch. BERLAINE was quickest from the gate and seized the early lead before the first turn, tried to temper the pace as the field bunched up behind, came under a threat from PEAK EARNINGS (GB) at the head of the stretch, and gave way readily in upper stretch.
