Chart notes
ROME'S CONQUEST vied inside of AL'S ROMEO up the backstretch, could not move on with rival entering the turn, angled out and launched a two wide rebid at the head of the lane, poked a head in front at the furlong marker, briefly cleared the lead then came under pressure from MERONEY, dug in gamely, turned back bid and edged away. MERONEY tracked the top pair around the turn, coaxed three wide into the lane, raced in striking distance near the sixteenth pole but failed to get by the winner and had to settle for second best. AL'S ROMEO vied outside of ROME CONQUEST up the backstretch, shook free with three furlongs left to run, held clear at the head of the lane, then got collared by eventual winner a furlong out and weakened to show. AXEL STEEL raced off the early pace, saved ground around the turn, tipped two wide for the drive and ran on for a minor share. TRAFALGAR'S HERO raced in the back, saved ground, hustled along the inside into the lane and failed to move on. STROLLSMISCHIEF raced off the early speed, was ridden two to three wide around the turn and never threatened. JUSTA STREAK raced near midpack, chased three to four wide around the turn then gave way. This race had a timing discrepancy or malfunction and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
