Chart notes
VIA DEL CORSO was urged at the start, chased the leading pair from off the rail, moved out three to four wide coming to the quarter pole advancing, bid in mid-stretch, forged clear late. HAND OVER MY HEART was coaxed forward to the lead after the opening furlong, dueled inside a rival on the turn, dispatched that foe but faced a new challenger in mid-stretch, was no match but second best. GALLANT BUCK dropped back inside lacking speed, moved off the rail on the turn, came into upper stretch five wide then shifted in, kept on late but needed more. GRANDDADDYLONGLEGS broke a step slowly, advanced four to five wide racing outside foes on the turn and within striking distance, floated seven wide into upper stretch, ran on evenly. ALVIN broke a step slowly, lacked early speed, shifted in, failed to menace. SPANISH DOUBLOON got away well and had the early lead, was soon overtaken and pressed that rival outside, took closer order dueling on the turn, was done at the quarter pole, dropped back and faded.
