Chart notes
SWEET AZTECA dueled inside A. Z. WILDCAT up the backstretch, inched ahead at the seven-sixteenths pole, put that rival away around the turn, drifted out a bit in the final furlong and was in hand the last fifty yards. MAGNIFICAT pursued the top pair inside rivals in the early going, stayed on the fence through the turn, angled out in the lane, chased determinedly down the lane but had to settle for second best. NOONI stalked the dueling leaders three deep, went four then five wide on the turn, tipped seven wide into the stretch, kept trying through the lane and closed the gap on the winner late. PRANCINGTHRUPARIS chased between foes, rounded the bend in the two path, angled out in upper stretch and failed to produce a bid. GRAND SLAM SMILE tracked well off the rail in the early going, navigated the turn in the five path, spun six wide into the stretch and lacked a rally. A THOUSAND MILES broke in the air and lagged behind the field, raced wide through the turn and never got involved. A. Z. WILDCAT fought outside SWEET AZTECA to the turn, stayed with that rival to the three-eighths pole, lost contact with the winner shortly after, then tired in the lane and was eased in the final furlong.
