Chart notes
SAUCY NAME pressed the pace having the fence down the backside at the half, was reined back letting the frontrunner go on with it at the three-furlong pole, started to reel in the leader again at the quarter pole saving all the ground around the bend and had relentless pursuit resurging inside the leaders in the final furlong to edge away for the gutsy win in the final seventy yards. FOUNDER'S DAY travelled in midfield early on down the backstretch, made a strong move advancing three wide around horses throughout the bend, bid for the lead four wide outside the pacesetter in upper stretch, dueled bobbing heads for the front end through the stretch but was just outkicked by the game winner in the final seventy yards. MRS. HOT SHOT was isolated in the middle of the pack four furlongs from home, began to reach for more ground two wide at the midpoint around the bend, shifted out off the leaders closing the gap six wide with a furlong still to run and finished up gradually in deep stretch to be a clear third while just missing out for the place money. GIZMO'S B F F had the lead on the outside trying to angle in but could not clear to get to the rail, shook loose at the three eighths pole taking the short way around the turn, shifted out at the quarter marker with an outside foe closing in, had company outside while in the three path at the head of the lane, fought on stubbornly with rivals on both sides in mid-stretch but gave way grudgingly when fading in the final seventy yards holding for a minor share. MY CASH FACTOR travelled on the inside of another watching the embattled duo down the backside, was hard ridden chasing the lead trio around the oval, had a chance for a piece of the prize two wide in upper stretch but evened out in the final eighth of a mile. MARDENE had a stalking role ahead of one runner with a half mile from the wire, started to inch closer when asked for more going four wide at the quarter pole, swung out widest in the six path straightening out for home but failed to fire in the final furlong outside of runners. KAVALA was void of early foot trailing along the back straightaway, lagged behind the pack showing little through the turn, shifted to the five path for the drive but could not factor in the late going.
