Chart notes
HUMORMEASTORY broke a step slow being allowed to settle into stride trailing down the backstretch, began to pick up runners travelling inside at the three furlong pole, had a sharp turn of foot shifting out four wide at the quarter pole, had a full head of steam outside the leaders in the five path turning for home and was gaining steadily under left handed encouragement down the lane and got up in the shadow of the wire for the well timed stretch running win. FLYONBYE pressed the issue inside initially, took back off the lead duo by the five eighths pole, settled on the fence in mid-pack on the turn, closed in shifting out off the front pair three wide in the thick of things in upper stretch, dug in between horses fighting up top in the final seventy yards showing a solid stretch effort but was second best to the winner. TIHO SRCE vied between runners early on, battled inside for the lead at the half, chased the frontrunner midway around the turn, took closer order just off the fence at the head of the lane, seized control with a furlong to go but could not find more late and was nabbed in deep stretch unable to hold for the win as well as getting caught for the place share at the wire. PADDY HOLIDAY had runners on either side while tracking the lead twosome, chased three wide between horses on the turn, shifted to the four path in the conversation for a piece of the prize in upper stretch but could not threaten the lead trio who had it to themselves late and easily held for a minor placing in the end. UP N THE ANTE had a head in front outside down the backstretch, edged clear getting to the rail heading into the turn, rolled along loose up top by the five sixteenths pole, skimmed the fence clinging onto the lead straightening out for the drive, could not continue on with the outside rivals making a stretch run and wilted in the final furlong. BROCKWELL had the rail while stalking near the rear, offered a mild run in midturn, was floated out five wide at the top of the stretch, stayed on the incorrect lead through the drive and could not get involved. FORESTERS LASTLOVE travelled three deep outside runners watching the engaged pair, was scrubbed for more run going four wide around the turn just keeping pace with the inside rivals, had little to offer turning for home and emptied out by mid-stretch. TANIST was restless in stall prior to the gates opening up, had an outside stalking role along the backside, came under a busy ride but was retreating through the turn and had nothing left to offer three wide in the stretch drive.
