Chart notes
J J GREY set a pressured pace around the first turn, vied up the backstretch and around the far turn, shook free turning for home, widened advantage under steady encouragement and held sway. THE HELL WE DID rated off mid-pack along the inside, angled out, coaxed two wide at the head of the lane, sustained a steady bid and finished second best. MAXIMUM EFFORT got brushed between rivals at the start and settled in the back, picked up the tempo five paths wide late on the far turn, ranged up into contention mid-stretch and edged closer late. DESERT GATE raced in range two wide between foes, was ridden along three wide past the furlong marker, raced in contention then yielded late. BRICKLIN vied with the winner around the first turn, continued to battle around the far turn then flattened in the lane. CHAD ALLAN rated off midpack outside mid-way up the backstretch, hustled up four wide nearing the quarter pole, stayed along the outside into the lane, showed interest but was not enough for late impact. CRUPPER tracked the pace along the inside, saved ground around the far turn and had no late response. CANNED HEAT stalked the pace, weakened late on the far turn and continued to tire in the drive. OUTMATCH raced near or in the back and had no response.
