Chart notes
ROAD TO MIDNIGHT gained the early lead, edged clear leaving the turn and held sway in the stretch under steady pressure. LORD HENRY awkward to start, settled well, was maneuvered off the rail on the turn and finished well while three wide in the stretch. HIGH AMBITION came in at the start, was checked early, chased the pacesetter, stayed on in the stretch but was picked up late for the place spot. EPIC IMPACT forced in early, was steadied as a result, trailed, moved closer on the turn and rallied while five wide in the stretch. SLEW DE ORO saved ground, commenced a bid on the turn, remained inside for the stretch run and kept on. VERMONT bumped at the start, veered in early hampering EPIC IMPACT, saved ground thereafter and was outrun.
