Chart notes
PRACTICALLYELUSIVE always within striking distance, circled rivals four wide through the turn, made the lead in upper stretch and edged clear under right handed urging. CANDLELIGHT HOURS vied for the lead three wide into the stretch, shifted outside the winner near the furlong marker and finished clear for second. YELLOW FEATHERS pressed the pace along the inside down the backstretch, checked when in a bit tight entering the turn, dropped back then passed tiring rivals along the inside late. CITY SCENE pressed the early pace between rivals two wide, steadied when in tight at the seven sixteenths pole, cape on again soon thereafter, kept on past the furlong marker and tired late. KEY TO SUCCESS failed to menace. AUSTRIAN NAVY sprinted up three wide to gain a narrow lead soon after the start, began to drift inward before the seven sixteenths pole then steadily entering the turn, set he pace past the quarter pole then stopped late. THE STEWARDS POSTED THE INQUIRY SIGN BUT TOOK NO ACTION.
