Chart notes
TRY TO MAKE CENTS was allowed to settle behind the pace, saved ground early, moved out to the two-path approaching the far turn, and advanced to be in contention for the lead turning for home, engaged DEVIL'S CAY in a spirited stretch duel and got a head in front near the wire to prevail. DEVIL'S CAY stalked the pace two-wide, launched a bid approaching the quarter pole, had a narrow lead at the turning for home, then set down with TRY TO MAKE CENTS, battled gamely, but came up short in the end. BRONX BOYS settled close up along the rail, came out to the three-path for the stretch run, was never getting to the top two, but stayed on well to gain third. NOTTURNO was hustled away from the break, tracked three-wide in the middle of the main pack, struggled to keep up heading into the far turn, kept to task and outlasted some tired foes. GUITAR MONEY won the race into the clubhouse turn, went clear midway through the first bend, maintained a slight advantage through the far turn, then gave way in mid-stretch. SMOKE WAGON was unhurried after the start, allowed to settle at the back, and made a mild, belated rally. BERMUDA TRIANGLE angled over before the first bend but was still caught three-wide, tracked near the back, advanced to be in range heading into the far turn but weakened with three furlongs to go and faltered in the stretch.
