Chart notes
NORTH SHIP stalked in the three path, received a right handed cue while making a bid passing the three-eighths pole, dueled with the inner pacesetter down the stretch, stuck his head in front passing the furlong grounds, brushed with the inner pacesetter late, and prevailed. SAILOR SAM set the pace in the two path, was asked for more run along the inside when challenged midway around the turn, dug in gamely while dueling with an outer rival down the stretch, tipped out slightly brushing with that rival late, but was edged out to be second best. MAUPANSANT tracked inside, was driven in the two path around the turn, and finished on one paced from the three path down the lane for show. COLT FORTY SEVEN rated between foes in the two path, came under pressure in the three path midway around the turn, but weakened from the four path down the stretch. SINGULARITY chased outside of rivals in the four path but retreated. NO CHANGES WERE MADE AFTER AN OBJECTION LODGED BY THE RIDER OF SAILOR SAM AGAINST THE RIDER OF NORTH SHIP FOR INTERFERENCE IN DEEP STRETCH WAS DISALLOWED.
