Chart notes
MOMENT'S NOTICE broke out and hit the gate then bumped with HONG KONG PHOOEY, leaned against an opponent while having the rider appear to pop out of his right iron for several strides, dropped back with the rider losing his balance in the saddle while under extra left-rein pressure, had the rider regain his balance outside the five-eighths pole, settled into stride from that juncture, moved closer while saving ground on the turn, rallied while cutting the corner into the stretch, closed fast to get the lead inside the three-sixteenths pole, drew away under the crop until just outside the sixteenth-pole then was placed under a hand-ride to the finish while much the best. NASH POTATOES made light contact with HEARTILY at the start, pressed the pace on the outside, vied in the three path on the turn, took the lead approaching the quarter-pole, lost the advantage to the winner inside the three-sixteenths pole and proved no match while just able to get the place. SEEKER'S HOPE was hustled from the gate, chased the pace on the outside then in the four path on the turn, pursued the top two under a drive into the final furlong and tired while clear for the show. HONG KONG PHOOEY was bumped at the start then forced out into another rival and checked, angled in at the rear, traveled around the turn in the two path, moved to the three path in upper stretch, drifted in coming to the furlong marker and failed to threaten. LEO'S REWARD was hustled from the gate then ridden along on the outside, went around the turn in the five path, bumped with HEARTILY while in the six path into the stretch and came up empty. HEARTILY bumped with opponents on both sides at the start, settled off the pace, was roused in the three then four path on the turn, came into the stretch in the five path and failed to respond. ABSOLUTELY HOT broke alertly and went straight to the front, showed the way down the backstretch, was asked in the two path on the turn, lost the advantage coming to the quarter-pole and stopped.
