Chart notes
AMBERJACK drifted out a bit after clearing the chute, controlled the pace well off the rail, stayed in the two path on the turn under confident handling, was asked in upper stretch and edged away while under encouragement. BOGUS OPERANDI , a forward factor outside horses down the backstretch, ranged up four deep leaving the turn and chased the winner through the lane in a nice effort. SCRUTINATOR , outside the winner down the backstretch and on the turn, gave way in upper stretch. OSMAN THE GREAT , checked when pinched back by STOGIE JOE leaving the starting gate, passed tired rivals late. WITNESS PROTECTION remained along the inner rail down the backstretch and weakened. STAMPEDE hugged the inner rail entering the turn and was never a factor. HE IS A MIRACLE hesitated at the start and was outrun. STOGIE JOE bore in leaving the starting gate, checked in close quarters soon after, dropped back and was eased. An objection by the rider of STOGIE JOE against the winner for alleged interference leaving the starting gate was not allowed.
