LORENZO BERNINI grabbed the lead and controlled on the inside, showed the way unchallenged to the far turn, remained clear into the final sixteenth, came under threat from a pair of rivals late and held gamely. BORN TO ROCK tracked from inside, came under a ride on the far turn, moved to the two path, tipped out at the top of the lane, dug in three deep late, edged PLETTENBERG BAY for second but could not get by LORENZO BERNINI for the score. PLETTENBERG BAY was closest in pursuit from inside, loomed boldly at the quarter pole, chased determinedly through the stretch, between rivals late and could not summon the needed late kick. TIMAYYYY stumbled badly and almost unseated the rider while losing both his stirrups, traveled near the back in the early going, regained his left iron around the clubhouse turn, recovered his footing on the ride side briefly past the half-mile pole before losing it once again, found permanent footing on right iron and was fully balanced into the far turn, spun four wide into the lane, finished well through the lane and was able to round out the superfecta after an eventful journey. HEAVENLY MATCH sat off the pace on the inside, crept closer while angling to the three path on the far turn and went evenly through the stretch. BLACK PEARL traveled in mid-pack along the inside, asked left handed at the three-sixteenths pole and failed to answer the call. PERFECTIONACHIEVED reserved in the two path, between rivals leaving the backstretch, continued two wide to the stretch and lacked the needed response. FAUSTO broke out and bumped, sat off the pace on the inside, moved out a bit around the clubhouse turn, chased three deep into the second bend, stayed off the rail to the stretch and failed to menace. PYROKINETIC raced near the back on the inside, tipped two wide at the quarter pole, moved out in the drive and could not threaten. WAR ARTIST broke a bit slow from outside, tucked inside at the back and never got involved. LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE was off slow to begin, angled to the inside, coaxed along leaving the backstretch, cut the corner into the lane and was never a factor. THERE WAS A STEWARDS' INQUIRY INVOLVING THE START OF TIMAYYY AND RULED THAT HE CAUSED HIS OWN PROBLEMS LEAVING THE GATE AND IS CONSIDERED A STARTER.
